O’Connor Free Methodist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at O’Connor Free Methodist Church.
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, O’Connor Free Methodist Church has small Bible studies held in member homes, as well as at the church. The size of the group varies, and the topics change regularly.
Sunday Morning Bible Study at 9:30 at the church.
Hello, I’m Lloyd Montgomery, and I’m presently the leader of this Bible Study. We meet each Sunday morning for one hour just before church to study God’s Word – the Holy Scriptures. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve the Lord in this way. In over 40 years of leading this class, I find I receive more than I give as we debate and discuss the meaning of God’s Word.
I am not an intellectual, but I love to study the Bible and I believe our whole class is somewhat the same. We want to know, for instance, to whom the author was writing; what was he trying to impress upon his readers; what was the original meaning of the writing; what does this scripture say to me right now? How can it guide me to become a better Christian?
Look In the Book, 7:00pm at the Church
Christy Arnold Leads a study on the chronological order of the Bible starting with Genesis and ending with Revelation. This 3 year study is designed to make you more enlightened about the make up of the Bible and the history of how God has been working on earth through His chosen people and Christians.
Saturday Night Bible Study, 7:00pm at the Ogden’s House.
Dave and Lynnette are hosting and leading a study on the popular topic, Heaven. Join them as they learn about Eternal Life.
Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn.
Every third Monday night the Junior Youth Group (ages 10 -12) meets for a great night of Bible story learning, fun and snacks.
On the first and third Friday night of each month, students aged 13 -19 get together to learn and grow in the knowledge of God as they interact, play and eat.
- The Women’s Ministries International (WMI), lead by Pat Fiorito, meet together once a month for fellowship, food and fun. Occasionally they hold special events for the ladies of the community.
We welcome men of all ages to our Men’s Fellowship Group, led by Gary Parker. Our purpose is to enable men to get to know each other and share our common bond in Christ fellowship. Our group has 2 functions:
Weekly – 10am Thursday mornings at the church we spend an hour together over coffee and a snack. We share stories of our lives; of how God has been made real in our lives, and we pray together.
Monthly – We plan an activity for the guys (and often include families) to hang out together. We have recently gone fishing, attended a Bordercats game, and golfed at St. Urho’s. We sometimes take in a local car show, or other seasonal activity. Come on out and join us! You’ll be glad you did!
